The first way of taking advantage of the raw power of Madcap Experiment and Platinum Emperion is to utilize him alongside a diversified threat suite within a control deck. All this being said, there are various ways to build this into a deck that overcome the inherent weaknesses of Platinum Emperion as a creature and maximize its potential. Finally, Platinum Emperion possesses no form of evasion and therefore can be slow to close out games in the presence of chump blockers. Platinum Emperion is a very vulnerable creature within the modern Meta and dies to many commonly run main deck cards that destroy, exile, or bounce creatures not to mention all the of artifact hate your opponent may bring in for it in games two and three. It is also important to note that once Platinum Emperion is on the battlefield, you are no longer able to pay life which leaves you unable to pay life as part of a cost (fetchlands, phyrexian mana, etc.). Another restriction of running this package is that no other artifacts may be simultaneously present in your deck, lest your experiment may end in disastrous results (except for possibly replacing Platinum Emperion with Platinum Angel when facing Infect decks). Additionally, if there are no Platinum Emperions within your deck, each Madcap Experiment is also a dead card.
What this means is that each platinum Emperion that is drawn will likely be a dead card and will result in one less Platinum Emperion that can be put into play by casting Madcap Experiment.
This package will most likely take the form of a 6 (or possibly 7) card package consisting of 4 Madcap Experiments and 2 (or possibly 3) Platinum Emperions. Without an answer, this combo has the potential to either win you the game, buy enough time for you to set up the win, or effectively lock your opponent out of being able to win the game.
